چکیده

Abstract Background In humans, various diseases are associated with the accumulation of free radicals. The antioxidants can scavenge radicals and reduce their impact; thus, search for effective natural plant origin is indispensable. present study aims to determine, first time, flavonoid compounds profile investigate radical scavenging antioxidant properties methanolic extract Taxus baccata L. from Algeria. Methods determination compound was established using high-performance liquid chromatography diode-array detection coupled electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC–DAD–ESI–MS/MS). total content (TFC) performed according aluminum chloride colorimetric method, while activities were carried out three methods, namely 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay, 2,2'-azino-bis3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid (ABTS) assay ferric reducing power (FRAP) Assay. Results A 26 including flavon-3-ols, flavanonols, flavones, flavonols bioflavonoids characterized identifiedusing HPLC–DAD–ESI–MS/MS analysis, five reported time such as taxifolin, apigenin, apigenin 7- O -glucoside, isorhamnetin 3- -rutinoside robustaflavone. exhibited high (TFC = 204.26 ± 6.02 mg RE/g dry extract) which corresponded its strong [(DPPH IC 50 35.31 0.29 µg/ml ABTS 8.27 0.52 µg/ml)] compared synthetic BHT 78.96 5.70 13.56 0.06 µg/ml)]. However, T. showed lowest ability positive controls (BHT, BHA, ascorbic acid, trolox quercetin). Conclusion Our results imply that Baccata might be a potential source isolation compounds.

Anti-ulcerogenic lignans from Taxus baccata L.

Four lignan type compounds, lariciresinol, taxiresinol, isolariciresinol and 3-demethyl-iso-lariciresinol, were isolated from the heartwood of Taxus baccata L. (Taxaceae) growing in Turkey through chromatographic techniques. In vivo anti-ulcerogenic potency of these compounds was investigated on ethanol-induced ulcerogenesis model in rats at two different doses, 50 and 100 mg/kg. All compounds ...
